Chris Palmer (S.Wales/S.West Regional Director) writes,
“It was a great privilege to take the OMS Regional Conference to Caersalem Evangelical Church Gorseinon on Saturday 21st September; special thanks to Pastor Robert Owens and the church for allowing this to happen.
The day’s events commenced at 3pm with a report from Robin Sloss. Robin updated us on his new role as UK MFM Director, which God willing will commence on January 1st 2014. Robin also spoke with passion about a recent trip to Haiti with the Resounding Hope radio project ministry. The visit obviously made a huge impact on Robin’s life.
The second speaker was Donald Coulter OMS UK Executive Director; being just a few miles from Loughor the home of Evan Roberts, Donald related his desire to see another revival within the UK church (the picture shows him visiting Moriah Chapel – birthplace of the 1904 Welsh Revival). Donald also gave further insight into the Four-Fold purpose of OMS of evangelism, church planting, training and partnerships.
The afternoon session was concluded by Joe & Sadie Law who spoke with intensity, passion and love of the work of Mission Possible in Bogota Colombia; a lovely poem of summary was given by their fellow worker Nancy Bell. This was a humble and powerful presentation of the tremendous work in Hope House and the Juan Rey feeding project.
Following a break for refreshments, provided by MFM West Gwent with the help of Jayne Palmer, we returned for further ministry.
Daniel Castro gave a presentation on the work in Meco Spain, highlighting the impact of their summer activities, and in particular the basketball camp. Daniel also led the congregation in some songs of praise before we were brought to the Word of God.
Rev. Doug Atherton OMS Minister at Large presented a challenge from Eccl.11:1-6 on ‘The Value of Diligence’. He emphasised the call to Generosity, Clarity and Urgency in the things of God.
The day ended with the singing of ‘I stand amazed in the presence’, accompanied by Mrs. Moira Jones at the piano.
It was a great day, blessed of God, and we look forward to more such events in the future.”
